Itinerary

Morning: The safari adventure begins early, with a pick-up at 6:30 AM from your hotel in either Arusha or Moshi. After meeting your guide, you’ll embark on a scenic drive towards Serengeti National Park. The journey takes you through the picturesque farmland of Karatu and the famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you ascend through the Ngorongoro highlands, you’ll witness spectacular views of rolling hills, lush greenery, and scattered Maasai villages.

Mid-morning: After passing through the highlands, you’ll descend into the Serengeti, often referred to as the heart of wild Africa. The park’s vast, seemingly endless plains stretch to the horizon and are home to one of the largest and most diverse concentrations of wildlife in Africa. You’ll arrive in the Seronera area, located in the central part of the Serengeti, which is known for its rich wildlife due to the year-round water source provided by the Seronera River. This area attracts a wide variety of animals, making it one of the best locations for game viewing.

Lunch: Upon arrival in the Serengeti, you will enjoy a hearty lunch at your lodge or camp before heading out for your first afternoon game drive.

Afternoon: In the afternoon, your game drive will give you the chance to observe the Serengeti’s incredible wildlife. From grazing herbivores such as zebras and antelopes to predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs, the Seronera area is teeming with life. Your guide will navigate through different terrains, allowing you to see animals in their natural habitat, engaging in their daily activities.

Evening: After a thrilling game drive, you’ll return to your accommodation in the Serengeti to relax, enjoy dinner, and rest for the night.

Main Destination: Serengeti National Park
Meals Provided: Lunch & Dinner

Morning: Your second day begins with an early morning breakfast before heading out for a full day of wildlife exploration. The Serengeti is renowned for its annual Great Migration, during which millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles move across the plains in search of fresh grazing land. Depending on the time of year, you may be able to witness this extraordinary natural phenomenon. Even if it’s not migration season, the Serengeti is home to a wide variety of resident wildlife, including giraffes, elephants, hyenas, and the elusive leopard.

Full-day game drive: You’ll spend the entire day on a game drive, searching for wildlife in various regions of the park. The open plains are perfect for spotting predators on the hunt, and you may be lucky enough to witness a lioness stalking her prey or a cheetah sprinting after gazelles. In addition to the big cats, the Serengeti is home to a large population of hyenas and smaller predators like jackals and servals.

Lunch: During the day, you’ll stop for a picnic lunch at one of the designated picnic sites within the park. This break offers a chance to rest, enjoy the breathtaking views, and reflect on the morning’s sightings.

Afternoon: After lunch, you’ll continue your exploration, visiting different parts of the Serengeti depending on wildlife movement. Your guide will tailor the game drive to ensure you have the best chances of spotting the most animals.

Evening: Return to your lodge or camp in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

Main Destination: Serengeti National Park
Meals Provided: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Early Morning Game Drive: Begin the day with an early morning game drive in the Serengeti. Early mornings are the best time to see predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards as they are more active during the cooler hours. The early morning game drive also offers stunning sunrise views over the plains, with golden light illuminating the landscapes.

Mid-morning: After the game drive, you’ll enjoy a final breakfast in the Serengeti before departing for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you’ll have an en-route game drive, where you can still spot wildlife as you leave the Serengeti’s open plains and head towards the higher elevations of Ngorongoro.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area: Unlike national parks, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a unique multi-use region where wildlife coexists with the Maasai people and their cattle. This creates a unique cultural and wildlife experience as you pass through Maasai villages on your way to the crater.

Late afternoon: Arrive at your lodge or camp near the Ngorongoro Crater, where you’ll have time to relax and prepare for the next day’s crater adventure.

Main Destination: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Meals Provided: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Morning: Start the day early with breakfast, and then descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable game drive. The crater is the world’s largest intact caldera, and its unique ecosystem supports one of the densest populations of wildlife in Africa. The crater is home to approximately 30,000 animals, including elephants, zebras, buffaloes, and the endangered black rhino.

Game Drive in the Crater: You’ll spend the morning exploring the crater floor, which offers some of the best game-viewing opportunities in Tanzania. The crater’s permanent water sources make it a year-round haven for animals, and you’ll have a good chance of spotting all of the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and black rhino. The crater is also a prime location for observing hyenas, wildebeests, and a variety of bird species.

Lunch: Around midday, you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch near the beautiful Hippo Lake, where you can relax and take in the surroundings while watching hippos wallow in the water.

Afternoon: After lunch, you’ll have a bit more time to explore the crater before ascending its steep walls and beginning your drive back to Arusha or Moshi.

Late Afternoon Return: You’ll arrive back in Arusha or Moshi in the late afternoon, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your safari adventure.
