Explore Tanzania with Blue Monkey Expeditions
3 Days Mount Meru Trekking
Overview
Mount Meru, Tanzania’s second-highest peak at 4,566 meters, is nestled within Arusha National Park and offers breathtaking scenery alongside diverse wildlife. Known for its steep and challenging trek, Mount Meru is an excellent acclimatization climb for those planning to ascend Mount Kilimanjaro. An armed ranger escorts Trekkers due to the abundant wildlife on the lower slopes, which includes buffaloes, giraffes, and antelope.
The mountain also holds historical significance, with some believing it to be the resting place of Noah’s Ark after the biblical flood. Mount Meru is a perfect option for those seeking a thrilling climb with a wilderness experience but not yet ready for Kilimanjaro.
